Report: UEFA looks to avoid clashes, bans K. Mitrovica venue

Kosovo's Zeri newspaper reports that KFOR "cannot guarantee security and order" at the Kosovska Mitrovica stadium because it seeks to avoid potential clashes between Serbs and ethnic Albanians there."

Since the stadium in Kosovska Mitrovica is the only that meets the minimum requirements to host international games, Kosovo will have to play its first qualifying game "abroad."

Having been given a spot in the qualifications after joining UEFA and FIFA, Kosovo will face Croatia, Turkey, Ukraine, Iceland and Finland in its qualifying group, Tanjug said.

Serbia has appealed against the controversial decisions to allow Kosovo's Football Association to join these organizations.
