Four dead as Turkish truck collides with two vehicles

Four persons died and two others were seriously injured early on Friday in a traffic accident that happened close to the Nais Hotel, near Nis, southern Serbia.

Four dead as Turkish truck collides with two vehicles

The accident happened when a truck with Turkish license plates hit two vehicles in the turnout lane of the highway to Belgrade - one van registered in the town of Leskovac, and another vehicle that could not be identified due to extensive damage.

The police in Nis told Tanjug that the truck hit two vans, and that the scene is investigated to determine the cause of the crash.

The media are reporting unofficially that goods were being transfered from one van to the other when the truck collided with them. The truck turned over onto the vans and the people inside them.

Unofficial reports add that the persons in the vans were "mostly in their 20s."

The section of the highway where the accident took place was open to traffic this morning.
