About 100 workers of Electronic Industry (EI) Nis protested in front of the Commercial Court in this southern town today. They demanded an end to bankruptcy proceedings in several EI units. Electronics manufacturer workers protest The protesters blocked the traffic in Svetosavska Street where the Commercial Court is located, as they submitted their request. EI trade union coordinator Ljubisa Peric said that the workers demanded the termination of bankruptcy proceedings in 14 EI firms. Peric stated that it was previously decided that the 14 firms would automatically go bankrupt and that the Commercial Court made the first bankruptcy decisions on April 14. The EI workers said that the Economy and Regional Development Ministry had promised them that these decisions would be reviewed when it came to the plats with “good outlook and attractive workspace and locations”.
