Army reservists are still considering the government’s proposal for settling the wage dispute. Under the proposal, the outstanding wartime wages would be paid only to those who served in Kosovo in 1999. Veterans pondering govt. offer Strike board member Velimir Milosevic told Beta yesterday that this would exclude at least one third of veterans, who had been stationed in Serbia. Milosevic said that the United Strike Board of the Third Army District had asked that the reservists in question be paid at least half of their wartime wages, amounting to EUR 1,500 a man. He said that the Strike Board would reach a final decision only after they received an official statement from the government. "At last night’s meeting, the United Strike Board considered this unofficial information, but we have not reached any final decision, because the government has yet to make its final offer,” Milosevic said. He said that the Strike Board had sent telegrams to President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and members of the government yesterday morning, stating that the veterans were ready to bring their family members to the protest in Belgrade if their demands were not met.
