Kraljevo workers protest in front of government Some 1,000 protesters were carrying signs with slogans such as “You sold us out” and “We want bread”, demanding that officials from the appropriate ministry talk with their representatives. A representative of a council set up to represent Magnohrom, Milivoje Jakovljevic, said that the protesters will stop today’s government meeting from taking place if they are not called in for discussions. The Magnohrom workers’ legal representative Vladan Batic said that he expects that he and the workers will have a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic, Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic and Finance Minister Mirko Cvetkovic. “If they have any conscience at all they will invite us in order to solve the problem of Magnohrom, because the workers are not asking for anything more than what the country owes them,” Batic said. He added that the workers have been left out in the cold with hardly any earnings over the last year, adding that "two have committed suicide because of this problem". Despite the promise given by Slobodan Lalovic, one of the prime minister’s chief advisors, the proposal to make the overdue wages payment was not discussed at the last government meeting.
