The Serbian Army (VS) is beginning a week-long marking of its day today. The army, just as the Serbian state, has chosen the holiday of Sretenje, February 15, as its day. VS Day marked with army orchestra parade Today, the representative army orchestra took it to the streets of Belgrade in a 45 minute parade, while similar events took place in Nis and Novi Sad, the orchestra's conductor Aleksandar Djurov told journalists. "We were hoping to remind the citizens of our history. We played classic Serbian marches such as Aleksandar the First, The King's Guard, The Drina March," Djurov explained. But Belgraders were also treated with a rendition of Glenn Miller's St. Louis Blues. The parade set off from the foot of the Kalemegdan Fortress, and ended in the Republic Sq.
