Assets and bank accounts of Radovan Karadzic’s family will have to be frozen as soon as possible, Raffi Gregorian says. Gregorian, the international community's principal deputy high representative in Bosnia, visited the home of Ljiljana Zelen-Karadzic, wife of the Hague fugitive Radovan Karadzic, located in Pale Friday, taking pictures of the house and making notes on its value, local media reported. "Karadzic family assets must be frozen" “I came to see all the property belonging to the Karadzic family. We have been debating for years now about adopting a law on the freeze of assets, and I believe it is high time we took some concrete steps to make it happen,” he said. “The Karadzic family assets should be frozen in their entirety, since the family members are part of a network of helpers assisting his hiding.” In Gregorian's opinion, the Bosnian authorities have all the legal instruments necessary to block the proprety and money of the persons involved in hiding of the Hague fugitives. Gregorian said he would personally see to it that the Karadzic family property is properly recorded and all their assets frozen. He added that there is a judicial ruling delivered in the United States “instructing the payment of several billion of U.S. dollars to the victims of systematic rape in Bosnia.” “We all know that Radovan Karadzic is responsible for organizing the systematic rape, and we are well aware that each and every victim should receive reparation. This is one more reason as to why his assets have to be frozen,” Gregorian explained.
