Justice and democracy?
As far as I’m aware of, in USA laws, one is innocent until proven guilty, and spouses, together with children, are not required to testify against members of their family. Fact that none of them pointed their finger at R.Karadzic’s location(for whatever reason), is not reason enough to confiscate property(in which they live)and to leave them on the street. That would be harassing which probably wouldn’t be tolerated in EU or USA. At he same time I’m not claiming that R.K is innocent on all accusations, although I have doubts that someone of his position, had time to organize sex-excursions during military operations. Maybe someone lower on the ladder.
No one “knows” that R.K. is responsible for organizing such a thing, until it is proven. If Mr Rafi claims “to know” (...it all?), why then he doesn’t arrest him on the (of course)”known” location, and leave his family alone? I’m sure that he has constant surveillance on mentioned property, and therefore “knows”, that R.K. haven’t visited home for years. On the other hand, if Mr. Rafi “knows” that family is actively helping R.K, why he didn’t produce proof of it and arrested them all?
Bosnian authorities should have Serbian representatives too, who wouldn’t agree with terrorizing (!) of women and children. I’m not confident in possibility of blocking instruments Mr. Rafi mentions, unless they are ordered by humane and democratic high representatives in Bosnia.
Ruling in USA, and instructions of USA, to pay victims in Bosnia, should not possible mean that property of accused family be stolen and given away, before court ruling. If payment is “instructed” to happen, by USA decision, why Mr. Rafi, personally (!) does not go to the USA and EU and take photos, together with notes of property value of Clinton, Bush, Albright, Solana, and of course his own too…And then instructs that payment be made to all victims of war in ex YU, Iraq, Afghanistan and wherever western powers, with NATO as a tool, brought democracy and prosperity.

They haven't proved any rapes - it is all propaganda. The Serbian women filed detailed rape reports to the UN before the Bosnian Muslims and the Bosnian Muslims only copied them.

Serbia should file lawsuits againts the Bosnian Muslims for false accusations unless they can prove otherwise.

These people ought to be force to bring all alleged rape baby/children for DNA tests for them the women and all accused men.

Additionally the boyfriends and husbands of the Bosnian Muslim women should be tested.

If these tests come up empty the women should be sued for false propaganda.

They don't have any rape baby of Karadzic. If there was one DNA evidence would have been easily attained.

Why not freeze his assets? Its people like this that make our beautiful country seem so ugly. I am sure that that he somehow scammed this estate and money from innocent victims of Serbia’s past. My family was very land rich pre communist era. That same land is being gobbled up by ex communist criminals as we speak.

Ida, when I read you, I read the usual rhetoric of Bosnian Serbs and Bosnian Muslims. Both parties are rejecting the crimes and atrocities committed during the war. Both parties are in complete denial of what was done: rape, torture, killing, etc.

Why not also freeze the assets of the Saudi funded SDA, Izetbegovic family who have amassed a fortune from the war years despite being less than middle class in origin. It makes me ashamed of the International community when the richest people in FBIH are the political class who have no means of showing how their wealth was created.

I have to laugh at your US comments..Have you ever heard of the IRS..they don't care if you are a spouse or not..they take everything. The freezing of assets is a common practice in the US, haven't you ever heard of the repo man? I agree with Jasa..so much has been stolen from the Serbs pre-communist era.

yes, FINally someone w a bit of a backbone is doing what should have been done in 1995, at the latest! just this month i interiewed one of the lawyers involved in the US karadzic torte (civil) case -- it was actually a double case-- and we were discussing the exact problem of trying to freeze and attach assets in order to execute such legal judgments. (hopefully i'm using the correct legal lingo.) a good frnd of ours is a conc camp survivor (omarska) -- both he and his wife were there and went thru hell -- and from the court judgment, he and others are owed millions by karadzic. this could be the start of that long-awaited process! what karadzic owes the world is a whole other story, and i am still awaiting his arrest and transfer to the hague; maybe now the necessary political will is coming to bear... for anyone interested, email me at robertoruss@yahoo.com and i'll send a copy of the interview -- my small contribution to the so-called reconciliation process.
