A Hungarian party official says that Vojvodina may face danger resulting from a violent change in its ethnic structure.

“This is a real danger that we need to focus on because, according to the Serbian Constitution, the proportions of the population cannot be altered,” Pastor said.

“We all know very well, with experience from the 1990s, that those refugee colonies moved to Vojvodina in great numbers, firstly in the northern regions, populated mostly with Hungarians and other ethnic minorities, which is why we justly fear that history could repeat itself,” Pastor told Novi Sad daily Dnevnik.

He said that the state needs to take care of the people who may eventually flee from Kosovo, and who are not to blame for their circumstances.
