Voting started in Greece in crucial parliamentary elections on Sunday morning. Europe sees the elections as a kind of referendum on country’s future in the eurozone. Greeks vote in crucial parliamentary elections At the early parliamentary elections on May 6 no party won enough votes to form the government on its own and all attempts to form a coalition failed. According to the polls, New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras has slight advantage over left-wing Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras. Samaras wants to keep the country in eurozone but has also stated that is willing to negotiate the austerity plan which was agreed with the international creditors in exchange for their financial aid. Tsipras claims that the austerity measure plan dubbed Memorandum needs to be scrapped. A EUR 2.6bn bailout installment for Greece was temporarily suspended after the inconclusive May 6 elections.
