Greeks vote in crucial parliamentary elections At the early parliamentary elections on May 6 no party won enough votes to form the government on its own and all attempts to form a coalition failed. According to the polls, New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras has slight advantage over left-wing Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras. Samaras wants to keep the country in eurozone but has also stated that is willing to negotiate the austerity plan which was agreed with the international creditors in exchange for their financial aid.
