Hague convict general Radislav Krstic was injured in a British prison after being attacked by three Muslim convicts, media in Banja Luka reported. Quoting Krstic’s attorney Nenad Petrusic, media stated that three Muslim convicts from Islamic countries attacked Krstic and that he suffered injuries from a sharp object to the face and blunt object to the body. Hague convict attacked in prison The attorney did not say whether the injuries were serious, adding that Krstic “did not provoke the attack in any way, which can only be linked to his conviction for crimes committed in Srebrenica.” Banja Luka media reported that Krstic’s injuries could not be confirmed by Hague Tribunal spokesperson Nerma Jelacic or the Republic of Srpska’s office for cooperation with the Tribunal, Trivun Jovicic. Jovicic said that the country in which he or she is serving the sentence is responsible for the convict. The Hague Tribunal convicted Krstic in 2001 and sentence him to 46 years of prison for genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica, after which the sentence was decreased to 35 years.
