Rain causing problems in Montenegro
8 November 2009 | 11:49 | Source: Tanjug
PODGORICA -- Constant rainfall over the last two days, coupled with strong winds, has caused problems in several Montenegrin cities.

Trees were damaged by strong winds in Herceg Novi and rain has caused flooding problems on the streets of Podgorica and Cetinje.

Similar problems occurred in Kotor, where a majority of the streets of the old part of the city are flooded.

Houses are in danger in the Babića Polje community and traffic from Mojkovac to Žabljak has been stopped because the roads have been flooded by the Tara River.

A crisis group has been formed in Nikšić to deal with the serious flooding.

According to the Montenegrin hydro-meteorological bureau, the largest amount of precipitation was recorded in Žabljak, where rain was falling with an intensity of 101 liters per square meter.

Meteorologists have predicted smaller amounts of rainfall for the remainder of the weekend.
