Croatia has warned its citizens traveling to the UK of the danger of terrorist attacks and renewed IRA activity. After the BBC reported that the Foreign Office had issued a statement on its website warning British tourists of the dangers that await them in Croatia, Croatia responded with a similar warning of the threat of terrorism in the UK. Croatia in tit-for-tat warning about UK travel The Croatian Foreign Ministry has warned its citizens travelling to the UK to be careful, following the suicide bomb attacks in London in 2007 and new threats of Al Qaeda attacks over the last year. The ministry has also highlighted the renewed threat of IRA attacks. The Croatian ministry mellowed its tone partially on Tuesday, publishing a statement on its site that read: “The previous recommendation for travel to Great Britain stressed that the British government had raised the level of alert to critical after the terrorist attacks in mid-2007. The risk level has been downgraded in the most recent recommendation and it is stressed that there is no knowledge that would suggest the need to postpone travel to Great Britain.“
