The OHR chief post made vacant by Miroslav Lajcak's departure will likely be taken by Italian diplomat Renzo Davidi, the EU sources say. Lajcak has earlier this month quit as head of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) to Bosnia-Herzegovina, to assume the post of Slovakia's foreign minister. Davidi likely to succeed Lajcak: report The names of candidates to take over the international and EU administration in Bosnia have been sent to the EU member countries, Beta news agency reports from Brussels. Davidi has already held the position of deputy chief of the European Commission (EC) in Bosnia, and headed the EC office in Pristina. Unofficially, former Italian Foreign Minister Giuliano Amato and Michael Giffoni, appointed as Italy's ambassador to Pristina, have also been mentioned, along with former EU Commissioner Chris Patten. Beside some other Irish, Slovenian, Austrian and Greek diplomats mentioned, Washington offered that American Raffi Gregorian take over from Lajcak, reports said. The EU debated its new representative in Bosnia as the Political-Security Committee met in Brussels. The committee also considered a recent agreement reached by the three most important Serb, Croat and Muslim parties to rearrange the way in which the country is organized, and said that "this agreement in principle has many obstacles ahead of it". Beta reports that the EU believes the OHR should be led by an EU figure. "Then, more powers and responsibilities would be transferred to the Bosnian authorities, so that it Bosnia would no longer be considered a type of international protectorate," the news agency's sources said.

The names of candidates to take over the international and EU administration in Bosnia have been sent to the EU member countries, Beta news agency reports from Brussels.
