Ernest Radjen and Dusan Maslovar, two Croatian Serb war crimes suspects, were extradited to Croatia from Greece yesterday. The Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations confirmed this, and expressed its gratitude to Athens. Greece extradites two Serbs to Croatia A statement for the press, also signed by the Croatian Ministry of Justice, said that Zagreb requested Maslovar's and Radjen's extradition in July and October 2006 respectively. Radjen, an ethnic Serb from the town of Bekovac, is suspected of committing crimes against civilians, including participation in mass murders, in the villages of Skabrnja and Nadin in 1991. At the time of his arrest, he was assistant coach at the Greek PAOK basketball club. Croatia alleges that Radjen was a commander of a military police unit that took part in the executions of civilians. Maslovar was allegedly a member of a paramilitary group known as Siltovi, from the Glina area. Croatian authorities say they are in possession of a video tape that shows Maslovar during a Serb forces attack on the Croatian village of Vidusevac in October 1991, when a local church was torched. "Croatia wishes to express its gratitude to all relevant Greek authorities, headed with the Ministry of Justice, for their professional approach to these extradition demands and their understanding of the war crimes indictments related to the crimes committed in Croatia," Zagreb said in the statement.

A statement for the press, also signed by the Croatian Ministry of Justice, said that Zagreb requested Maslovar's and Rađen's extradition in July and October 2006 respectively.
