Croatia’s Prime Minister, Ivo Sanader, is taking a break from the election campaign until Tuesday because of his father’s death. A statement, issued by the prime minister’s centre-right Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ, said that “Dr Ivo Sanader has stopped all pre-election activities so he can be beside his mother and family” during the period of mourning.
