Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says that Miroslav Lajcak's decisions have been "incautious and ill thought-through." "We hope that the crisis created by High Representative Lajcak's actions will be overcome and that it will not damage international community's achievements in Bosnia-Herzegovina," Lavrov told a news conference in Ljubljana following a meeting with his Slovenian counterpart Dimitrij Rupel Wednesday. Lavrov criticizes Lajcak measures The head of Russian diplomacy pointed to the need to "avoid moves contrary to the spirit of Dayton accord and aimed at the revision on the agreement." In Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska (RS) government today categorically denied claims that it is linking the situations in the RS and Kosovo. The claims from debates on the recent measures taken by Lajcak, regarding the RS’s status within Bosnia-Herzegovina and the situation in Kosovo, together with other allegations that it was involved in printing ballot papers for a referendum in the entity. The only person who mentioned such links was the Deputy High Representative Rafi Gregorian, the government press office said in a release yesterday. The RS government also rejected Gregorian's claims that the entity intended to organize a referendum in the event of Kosovo declaring independence. “The RS government is not aware of any ballot papers being printed for a referendum, nor is it involved in any such activity,“ the release says. “Gregorian's claims were most strongly refuted by EUFOR Commander Hans Jochen Witthauer who said that his organization had looked into the rumors of voting slips and had determined they were untrue,“ the release adds. “Rumors were, however, still being spread, and Gregorian repeated his lies on November 8 before the U.S. Congress Helsinki Commission,“ the release concludes.
