"Legally binding agreement with Pristina is not recognition"

Dacic said that progress on all other chapters will depend on the progress made in chapter 35, which concerns normalization of relations with Pristina, adding that "the problem is that the European Union itself is not clear on everything that this chapter means."

"It has not been requested of Serbia to change its position on Kosovo and a legally binding agreement on normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina does not mean a recognition of Kosovo," he said.

He also spoke about Serbia's chairmanship of the OSCE during 2015 to say that "the most important international factors: the UN Security Council, OSCE member-states, the European Union, Russia, Ukraine and other countries all positively express themselves, and continue to, on the impact of the Serbian chairmanship."

"I will remind you that when Serbia assumed the presidency war was raging in Ukraine and there was a huge crisis. Now the situation is vastly different. The peace mission of the OSCE and the trilateral contact group is keeping the situation under control, relatively," said Dacic, adding that the international position of Serbia had "significantly improved."
