Minister Zorana Mihajlović has said the government will soon present a draft law on repair of the consequences of the floods.

Legislation to regulate flood recovery in works

She noted that the law would accelerate the repair of roads, houses, public facilities and schools damaged in the severe floods that recently hit Serbia.

Expert teams are examining the terrain and public facilities, and the next two months should be spent on recovery of the country, Mihajlović noted and added that everyone in the government is already involved in the task.

The minister announced the construction of 50 kilometers of roads in the course of the year and the repair of 1,100 kilometres of most used sections in the next three years.

The national strategy for traffic safety should be completed soon which will, together with a better road infrastructure, contribute to higher safety on roads and reduced frequency of traffic accidents in Serbia, Mihajlović said.
