SNS leader "drafting future government's program"

Vučić, whom the paper describes as "the leader of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) and the next prime minister," was responding when asked when talks on a new ruling coalition could be expected to start.

In the March 16 early elections, Vučić's party won 158 seats in Serbia's 250-seat parliament.

According to the daily, "the program that the SNS leader is working on will represent the backbone of the plan of a next ruling coalition, and will be offered to prospective coalition partners as a foundation for the beginning of talks, and it will contain measures for reforms in all layers of society, plan of actions and necessary first steps."

On Saturday, Vučić said that the government "will have to work as a team, adding that it will neither be Russian nor German, but rather Serbian, that will further the interests of Serbian citizens."

"It is important to set up the best possible political team for the future of Serbia and for that, one party is not enough, or even five, we need to take the best people in Serbia," Vučić said.

As the SNS stated earlier, "the program of reforms will encompass all key fields ranging from education, health-care and, of course, the economy where the main goals are a reduction in unemployment, attraction of investment and better standard of citizens."

Before the beginning of talks with potential coalition partners, the SNS presidency and the party's main board will voice their opinion concerning the plan and program of work of the future government.

The SNS expects that the presidency will hold a meeting by Friday, while the board will convene during the weekend so that the talks on possible cooperation with other parties "could start as soon as at the beginning of next week."
