BELGRADE After the third ban of the Pride Parade, "Serbia's priority is an efficient action of the authorities with a view to ensuring security and the rule of law." This is according to the head of the EU delegation in Serbia. Michael Davenport, who was quoted by the daily Politika. EU rep: Parade ban will certainly reflect on report The Pride Parade ban will certainly reflect on the report on Serbia's progress in the EU integration process which is to be published mid-October, Davenport said during the interview, which will be published on Sunday. Davenport underlined that it has to be visible that clear measures are being taken in order to prevent the use of force and intimidation. "It is very important to show that the extremist groups are actually a threat to the entire society," Tanjug quoted Davenport as saying, and adding that the authorities should demonstrate that they are ready to protect human rights including the LGBT population, and that violence will not be tolerated.
