EU official hopes Serbia could get date by August "I hope that we will start the talks, or at least decide on the date before I leave Serbia in August," Degert said. The EU is not asking from Serbia to recognize Kosovo, "but it requests stabilization and normalization of the Belgrade-Pristina relations," he said. "I believe that the agreement will be reached, we cannot impose choices on one side or the other, it is up to them to reach an agreement," he said, adding that he hopes that the Kosovo issue will be resolved if all parties get down to work. "The stabilization of the Belgrade-Pristina relations is of crucial importance for Serbia's EU integration process," he said. "Three years ago no one could have imagined that the Serbian prime minister and the Kosovo prime minister will engage in a dialogue and hold meetings every two-three weeks, All this should be consolidated through one agreement which would secure a peaceful life to people in Kosovo," Degert said. "When it comes to Kosovo, people are more turned to the past, instead of a common future," Degert said. (Tanjug, file) Tanjug
