Republic of Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik has no jurisdiction over the forming of the Serbian government, Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic says. He added that Dodik and the RS could not take part in forming of any government in the region. Tadic: RS president cannot decide on Serbian govt. When asked whether he and Dodik had discussed a conflict between the RS president and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic, who is a potential partner in the future Serbian government, Tadic said that he and Dodik had not discussed the next government at all. However, the DS leader called on Dodik and Jovanovic to return their dialogue to the political field because “the communication they have is not useful”. “Dodik has been my friend for years but he has no jurisdiction to form the Serbian government just like I, as a former Serbian president and a current DS leader, have no jurisdiction to form the government in the RS or in any other entity or other state in the region,” Tadic pointed out. When asked whether the LDP leader was ready for a compromise, he said that Jovanovic should answer that and added that the LDP leader had assured him “that he does not in any way question the RS’ integrity with his political actions and opinions”. “As far as Dodik is concerned, the issue cannot be questioned,” the DS leader pointed out. He said that he had spoken to both Dodik and Jovanovic, that he did not agree with the LDP leader’s opinion on the RS and Kosovo but that he believed that the “personal component must not interfere in difficult times when it is important to find solutions”. “I do not believe that it is even possible to form a government in Serbia that will question the RS and the Dayton Accords,” Tadic stressed and repeated that Dodik and Jovanovic’s discussion had become personal. “The discussion is not aimed at finding stable solutions for Serbia, at protecting the RS’ future without questioning Bosnia-Herzegovina’s integrity and it has instead been taken to a personal level,” he warned.
