The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) declared Serbian Progressive Party (SRS) leader Tomislav Nikolić a presidential candidate on Thursday.

The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) declared Serbian Progressive Party (SRS) leader Tomislav Nikolic a presidential candidate on Thursday. The SNS submitted a total of 19,519 signatures from the people supporting Nikolic's candidacy and the counting showed that 18,743 of the signatures were legally valid. RIK approves SNS leader’s presidential bid The RIK has so far approved the nominations of Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic, Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic, Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica, United Regions of Serbia (URS) Zoran Stankovic, Serb Radical Party (SRS) candidate Jadranka Seselj and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and U-Turn Movement leader Cedomir Jovanovic. Certain political figures have previously announced that they will submit candidacy for Serbia's president, but have not done so yet: Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) leader Istvan Pastor, Dveri movement leader Vladan Glisic, Movement of Workers and Farmers (PRS) leader Zoran Dragisic, and Islamic Community in Serbia Chief Muamer Zukorlic. The deadline for submission of nominations for the presidential elections is April 15, while the order of candidates will be determined by drawing lots, which is scheduled for 19:15 on April 20. RIK approves SNS leader’s presidential bid

The RIK has so far approved the nominations of Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadić, Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dačić, Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Koštunica, United Regions of Serbia (URS) Zoran Stanković, Serb Radical Party (SRS) candidate Jadranka Šešelj and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and U-Turn Movement leader Čedomir Jovanović.

Certain political figures have previously announced that they will submit candidacy for Serbia's president, but have not done so yet: Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) leader Ištvan Pastor, Dveri movement leader Vladan Glišić, Movement of Workers and Farmers (PRS) leader Zoran Dragišić, and Islamic Community in Serbia Chief Muamer Zukorlić.

The deadline for submission of nominations for the presidential elections is April 15, while the order of candidates will be determined by drawing lots, which is scheduled for 19:15 on April 20.

The complete list of candidates on the ballot should be published by midnight on April 20 at the latest.
