Northern Kosovo mayors should meet not only with KFOR, but also with Boris Tadic, in order to solve the problem of barricades, says Oliver Ivanovic. "Some of the problems that have arisen peretain to the domain of high politics and therefore it's necessary for the municipal presidents from northern Kosovo to coordinate their actions with President Tadic," the Ministry of Kosovo state secretary said on Friday. Official tells Serbs to "coordinate with Tadic" Ivanovic added that he "hoped the meeting will be scheduled soon". At the same time, he called on the NATO troops to schedule their own meetings with presidents of the Zubin Potok, Kosovska Mitrovica, Leposavic and Zvecan municipalities. Ivanovic specified that they should discuss the issues that Serbs previously reached agreement on as they met earlier this week - to allow KFOR passage to Brnjak and Jarinje checkpoints under the condition that they prevent the arrival of armed Kosovo Albanian authorities' units, and not to transport customs workers of the said authorities to the crossings. Ivanovic welcomed the Serbs' determination to remain at the barricades for as long as needed, but noticed this was "not a long-term solution". (Beta, file)
