Albanian and Kosovo Prime Ministers Sali Berisha and Hashim Thaci met in Tirana to coordinate activities ahead of the UN General Assembly meeting on Kosovo. The session, scheduled for September 9, would include discussion an voting on the Kosovo resolution submitted by Serbia. Pristina, Tirana coordinate ahead of UNGA Berisha said that he is convinced that Kosovo will see a “victory” at the session, based on the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) alone, Kosovo media stated. The ICJ gave it's advisory opinion on Kosovo's unilateral independence declaration on July 22, stating that the decision did not violate international law. Berisha said that Albania would be offering support to Kosovo on the international scene and that the Albanian leadership would be working to help Belgrade recognize the new reality in Kosovo. Thaci said that he expects new recognitions of Kosovo’s independence soon. Thus far, 70 countries have recognized Kosovo's independence.
