The chairman of the Committee of the All-Chinese People's Congress, Wu Bangguo, and Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, have met in Belgrade. They spoke about strengthening of economic and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. Chinese delegation on trade ties The speaker of the Chinese Parliament reiterated China's readiness to strengthen trade with Serbia and to invest in Serbia, especially in infrastructure, thermal power plants and in green economy. "China honors the road of development Serbia has selected and I understand the policy of joining the European Union. This is the political foundation of cooperation between the two countries," Wu told reporters after his meeting with Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic in the Serbian Parliament. Recollecting that Serbia supports the policy of "one China," Djukic-Dejanovic expressed gratitude to the Chinese high delegation for Beijing's support for the honoring of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia. Wu and Djukic-Dejanovic also discussed the establishing of tighter cooperation between the parliaments of China and Serbia, announcing further activities in this field. The high delegation of the All-Chinese People's congress signed several agreements with Serbian officials about cooperation between the two countries, including an agreement on the loan for the building of the bridge across the Danube between the Belgrade quarters of Zemun and Borca. The corner stone for the bridge was laid in a ceremony on Wednesday attended by the visiting Chinese delegation and Serbia's top officials. More agreements with the Chinese delegation were signed by the Serbian ministers of finance, Diana Dragutinovic, of health Tomica Milosavljevic and of culture Nebojsa Bradic.
