Kosovo Minister Goran Bogdanovic has rejected Kosovo officials' claims that the Serbia-UN-EU talks will lead to a partition of Kosovo. Bogdanovic told Novi Sad daily Dnevnik that the government’s policy on Kosovo has changed. Bogdanovic: Talks aren't leading to partition “Rumors that Serbia is going for a partition of Kosovo are extremely inaccurate. That idea has never been discussed,“ he said. “The only truth is that Serbia is pursuing a tough diplomatic battle for its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and that it’s registering ever more positive results in that battle,“ the minister said. He underlined that what was under discussion with the UN applied to all Serb-populated regions of Kosovo. “No separate talks are being pursued on northern Kosovo, the central part of the province, Metohija or Pomoravlje. Our view is that wherever there are Serbs, they must receive the same treatment and rights. Serbia insists on UNMIK laws applying throughout Kosovo,“ Bogdanovic said, adding that the mission would not have different powers in the north. The minister also dismissed claims from the Serb National Council iin northern Kosovo that Belgrade was threatening them over accepting EULEX’s arrival. “That’s a downright lie! Nor is anyone considering coercing the Kosovo Serbs into something like that.“ Goran Bogdanovic (FoNet, archive)
