The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) claims to have reached agreement with the SRS and SPS over forming a local government in Belgrade. DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica, Serb Radical Party (SRS) deputy president Tomislav Nikolic and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic have agreed the three sides should confirm the determination of the local party committees to form a local government in the capital, Tanjug understands from the DSS. DSS: Belgrade agreement reached The DSS’s executive board today green-lighted the coalition agreement. The DSS also claims that Kostunica, Nikolic and Dacic have agreed that the coalition deal in Belgrade should be signed by the end of this week. Earlier, the Radicals announced that they would be continuing talks with the DSS-NS coalition and the parties gathered around the SPS over forming local authorities in Belgrade. Senior SRS, DSS, and SPS officials are also due to sign an agreement for cooperation at the local level at the Radicals’ headquarters in Novi Sad. At the same time, talks between the three parties on forming a new ruling coalition at the state level are expected to continue today. Senior SPS official Branko Ruzic could neither confirm nor deny that Dacic, Nikolic and Kostunica would be meeting. He added that official talks had begun the moment the first contact with the DSS-NS coalition was made. The SRS joined the talks during the second phase of negotiations. "We have reached a high level of agreement over the principles” said Ruzic, adding that working groups have been formed to go over the contents of that agreement, as well as other important details.
