Milo Djukanovic is back in the political life of Montenegro after a decision by his party yesterday. The Main Committee of the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) unanimously nominated party leader Djukanovic premier designate, party vice president Filip Vujanovic told journalists in Podgorica. Djukanovic officially nominated PM designate Vujanovic, who is Montengro's president, also said he was convinced that Djukanovic would implement the government's program. The party Main Committee also confirmed Vujanovic's candidacy for the presidential vote, called for April 6. Outgoing prime minister Zeljko Sturanovic resigned last week, citing health problems. If elected prime minister, Djukanovic, 45, will be serving his fifth mandate in office. He was first elected prime minister 17 years ago. Djukanovic was also Montenegrin president for one mandate.
