Switzerland's Tim Guldimann has been appointed new head of the OSCE mission in Kosovo. Guldimann has gained experience in working in the region of the former Yugoslavia, and was head of the OSCE Mission in Croatia from 1997 to 1999. OSCE in Kosovo gets new chief Before that, from 1996 to 1997, he was at the head of an aid group for Chechnya. He was Swiss ambassador to Iran in the period from 1999 to 2004. Guldimann replaces his German colleague Werner Wnendt, who worked as head of the OSCE in the province since 2005. Ever since international administration was established in Kosovo in June 1999, OSCE has been in charge of the development of democratic institutions. The OSCE Mission in Kosovo continues to be the organization's largest mission in the region.
