Still without new cabinet agreement
The Democrats still insist on cutting all ties with the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and the Serb Radical Party (SRS), while the G17 Plus demanded that Bogoljub Karić’s party, the Serbian Strength Movement (PSS), had the same treatment as the Socialists and the Radicals.Following yesterday’s meeting, G17 Plus vice president Tomica Milosavljević said that he could see the outlines of the future government and the partnership of DS, DSS-NS coalition and G17 Plus, supported by the minority parties.
When it came to the disputed “sixth principle”, according to which one party cannot hold the two most prominent offices in the state, that of the prime minister and the president, the DS and G17 Plus still advocated their original positions, as G17 Plus insisted that the principle must be respected, and The DS refused to even discuss the issue.
The Democrats said they planned to nominate Boris Tadić at the upcoming presidential elections, claiming at the same time that Božidar Đelić was the only person capable to perform prime ministerial duties.
