As many as 97,207 persons have either been killed or are missing in the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Study puts Bosnia war toll at 97,207 people

The Center’s Director Mirsad Tokača also revealed that, according to the result of the latest research, 64,036 were Bosnian Muslims, 24,905 Bosnian Serbs, 7,788 Bosnian Croats, while 478 victims came from other ethnic groups in the country.

The Podrinje region reported the highest number of casualties, 28,666, (29 percent), followed by Sarajevo, with its 14,011 victims, 15 percent of the overall death toll of the three-year war.

The study was conducted as part of the Center’s project “Human casualties in the Bosnia-Herzegovina war from 1992 to 1995”.
