Radovan Jelasic is expected to be elected by parliament to another five year term as National Bank of Serbia governor. According to unofficial reports from the Beta news agency, the ruling coalition of the Democratic Party, Democratic Party of Serbia and G17 plus is expected to reach an agreement on extending Jelasic’s mandate. NBS governor’s mandate to be extended In addition, the new National Bank of Serbia Law is expected to be brought before parliamentary procedures soon. According to the Constitutional Law, the new NBS administration should be appointed at the first session of parliament after the formation of a new government. The Parliament’s autumn sessions are scheduled to begin on October 2.
