“No favoritism for Russian companies”

Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica said after a recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the tender for the state-owned package of NIS shares will take place in a few months, and that priority would be given to Russian companies.

Dinkić, however, said that the company which comes up with the best offer would win at the tender.

He added that the only exception to this rule was the construction of a transnational natural gas pipeline through Serbia and investments in the gas sector, where Russian companies would be given priority.

He reiterated that Serbia had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Russia for the natural gas line and pointed out that without their investment, there would not have been an infrastructure for the distribution of gas in the first place.
