Government launches RTB Bor talks with East Point

Dinkić told journalists that the government would ask East Point to improve its investment offer for the complex, stressing the success of negotiations with East Pont will also depend on an agreement on environmental protection.

On April 25, the Privatization Agency officially terminated the purchase deal worth USD 400mn concluded with Romanian Cuprom—which won the tender for RTB Bor announced on September 1, 2006—since Cuprom failed to submit financial guarantees within the set deadline.

The minimum asking price at the 2006 tender was EUR 266.7mn, and Cuprom outbid East Pont by EUR 60mn.

One of the East Point owners is Serbian businessman Zoran Drakulić who, before the contract with Cuprom was terminated, tried to dispute the sale, on grounds that the Romanian company lacked the means to realize the deal.
