“Investors face uncertainty”

“From the foreign investors’ perspective, as well as that of the Serbian economy, the speedy forming of a new cabinet in Belgrade is far more important than the resolution of the Kosovo crisis, since no new investments can be implemented without a new government,” Eames said.

He added that 2007 would be lost for Serbia in case of fresh elections, used up on voting and transitional issues instead.

BBC reports Economist Intelligence Unit’s assessment that foreign investments in Serbia proper amounted to US$ 4.4bn last year.
