Professor Radoslav Stojanovic says he is afraid that Ratko Mladic will deny everything that has exonerated Serbia of responsibility for the 1995 genocide. Serbia's former legal counsel before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague believes that this as a realistic possibility. “Mladic may try to deny everything” “There was no contact between Mladic’s main headquarters and Belgrade during the decision on Srebrenica. I'm afraid that he will now say the opposite, that he had talked to Milosevic before deciding,” Stojanovic pointed out. He believes that it is possible that Mladic will try to diminish his responsibility. “If he could document this it could lead to renewal of the proceeding before the International Court regarding Bosnian lawsuit against Serbia. That could cause damage, but I don’t believe that the International Court of Justice would accept it based only on his word,” the professor stressed. “Mladic would that way diminish his responsibility but it would not exonerate him completely. Ordering a crime is also a crime,” he concluded. Stojanovic added that he believed that Mladic’s health condition would not significantly affect the trial. Ratko Mladic (Tanjug)
