The Serbian War Crimes Prosecution will be deciding on whether to appeal a London court’s decision not to extradite Ejup Ganic to Serbia. Deputy War Crimes Prosecutor Bruno Vekaric said that the decision would be made through an agreement with the British prosecution that represented Serbia in the case. Prosecution decides on appeal Chief Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic said that the prosecution has “already confirmed some deficiencies and wrong conclusions on the decisive facts.” “On Monday, we will meet with them via video link and make a decision on the appeal with the English prosecution,” Vukcevic said. He denied the claims of the Ganic defense and some foreign media that Serbia offered to back down from the extradition request "if Bosnia-Herzegovina accepted the Srebrenica resolution adopted by the Serbian parliament". “As far as I'm concerned, the report of the Serbian Justice Ministry is relevant, which states that there is not political agreement related to the case. Whether politicians discussed this or something else that would help relax this delicate situation in the region, I do not known,” Vukcevic said. “I do not see it as subject of some kind of political bartering. I will continue to ask the question: why have we not received an answer from the courts on the question of who killed 42 soldiers and wounded 73, in Dobrovoljacka Street in Sarajevo in 1992," Vukcevic said. He said that the London court “put trust in Mr. Damir Arnaut, Ganic’s legal representative, who gave testimony of the rumored diplomatic negotiations between the Serbian and Bosnian foreign ministries, mediated by Turkey.” “However, the official answer of our Justice Ministry is relevant to me,” Vukcevic said. Last week, the London court ruled against extraditing former Muslim member of the wartime Bosnia-Herzegovina presidency to Serbia, where he is indicted for war crimes committed against a convoy of retreating Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) soldiers in early May of 1992.
