Serbian Supreme Court President Nata Mesarovic received a death threat related tothe verdicts handed out for the murder of prime minister Zoran Djindjic. A letter was sent to the Supreme Court signed by “a group of people from the Sumadija region living in the Diaspora, Evanston, Illinois, U.S.A,” in which Mesarovic’s life was threatened and foul language was used in commenting the trial for the assassination of prime minister Djindjic. Supreme Court President receives death threat The court stated that the letter has been given to the Interior Ministry and U.S. embassy in Belgrade, through which contact will be made with the FBI, since the letter was sent from Chicago and contains information that would allow authorities to find out who sent the letter. The court said that it expects the authorities to find the individual or group behind the letter, who are endangering the lives of government officials and their families in an effort to have an effect on the work of the state institutions.
