The Prosecution has dropped charges against four of the five Red Star fans suspected of insulting District Court Judge Velimir Lazovic. They hurled a tirade of insults at the judge after the sentencing of fellow fan Uros Misic. Second District Court Secretary Nada Djordjevic said that legal proceedings on charges of violent group conduct against Milos Zimonja, Ivan Rakovic, Predrag Panic and Jasmin Dosen would be dropped. Charges dropped against Red Star fans Djordjevic said that the only one to face charges would be Goran Coric. If found guilty of violent group conduct, Coric, who was released from custody on November 12, could face a sentence of up to three years imprisonment. The supporters against whom the charges have been dropped spent over 90 days in custody to prevent them tampering with witnesses and disrupting the investigation. All five men were arrested on November 19 on suspicion of verbally abusing the judge after he sentenced Misic to 10 years behind bars for the attempted murder of Gendarmerie officer Nebojsa Trajkovic at a match between Red Star and Hajduk Kula on December 2 last year. The suspects directed a number of profanities at the judge, including “Shame on you!” and “How much money did they pay for this, you bum”. Zimonja, against whom charges were dropped on September 5, was sentenced at the Second District Court to 20 months imprisonment for his role in the attack on Trajkovic, together with Slavisa Drakula, who received a one-year jail term.
