The KPS has arrested three ethnic Albanians following protests in the village of Suvi Do, two kilometers from northern Kosovska Mitrovica. The three were arrested after KFOR personnel discovered an automatic rifle during a search of one of the men's homes, which came in the wake of a protest by village locals, Kosovo Police Service (KPS) spokesman Besim Hoti confirmed to B92. 3 Albanians arrested in northern K.Mitrovica “Three Albanians have been taken into police custody for questioning. KFOR searched a house and discovered a rifle. The three men are now in the northern police station giving statements,” Hoti said. The KPS spokesman said that around 20 Serbs from the village had been holding a protest to call for construction to cease of a water pipeline running through their property. He said that a few stones had been thrown at an excavator, but other than that, there had been no material damage, nor was anyone injured. “As a result of that, a group of around 20 to 30 local Albanians gathered in a sign of protest. It’s important that there was no physical contact between the Serbs and Albanians, nor were any stones thrown at either side," said Hoti. UNMIK representatives in Kosovska Mitrovica are looking for a solution to the problem, said the KPS spokesman.
