VAT, excise taxes to go up on Monday

VAT will on Monday be raised from current 18 percent to 20 percent but it will remain eight percent for the basic foodstuffs.

BELGRADE VAT will on Monday be raised from current 18 percent to 20 percent but it will remain eight percent for the basic foodstuffs. Excise tax on diesel fuel, liquefied petroleum gas and cigarettes will also be increased. VAT, excise taxes to go up on Monday It is expected that additional RSD 35bn will flow into the state budget in 2013 thanks to the increases. The excise taxes on diesel fuel will be increased from RSD 37 to RSD 42 for one liter and to RSD 30 for liquefied petroleum gas. Excise taxes on leaded gas will be increased to RSD 55 for one liter while they will remain the same for unleaded gas – RSD 49.6 for one liter.
