The wheat harvest in Serbia is completed, and the average bread wheat yields exceeded expectations, totaling over 4.5 tons per hectare. This is according to the director of the national wheat association Zita Srbije, who spoke for Tanjug on Friday. Serbia plans to export after good wheat harvest The total wheat yield is estimated to exceed 2 million tons, said Vukosav Sakovic. "With over 100,000 tons in stock, Serbia has about 2.1 million tons of bread wheat," Sakovic said. He stressed that Serbia needs about 1.6 million tons, which means that about 500,000 tons will be available for export. Sakovic added that, according to the association's data, wheat was planted on 450,000 hectares last in Serbia last fall.
