Fiat automobili Srbija Director Giovanni de Filippis has stated that his company did not change its plans in Serbia. He added that the company continued its work in accordance with the envisaged plan. The Fiat director expects a new car model to be produced by the end of the year in Kragujevac. “Fiat hasn’t changed plans for Serbia” “Setting up of new equipment should begin next month and production of the first test vehicle of a new model is expected by the end of the year,” he stressed. “I don’t expect any significant changes in the general policy and the climate is positive for investors and we are trying to get more of our partners to come here, to Serbia,” de Filipis pointed out. The contract between the Serbian government and the Italian car manufacturer envisages production of a completely new A or B class model in Kragujevac and investments worth about EUR 800mn.
