Retail prices increase in August

Retail prices in August were, on average, 1.4 percent higher than in July, the State Statistics Bureau announced on Monday. Compared to the same month in 2009, the prices increased by 6.6. percent, and in comparison to December 2009 they are 5.9 percent higher. Retail prices increase in August In August, the greatest increase in prices was marked in the following groups: alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 3.2 per cent and foodstuffs and non-alcoholic beverages by 2.6 percent. The prices of other products and services did not undergone a significant change, according to the bureau.
