Trade Minister Slobodan Milosavljevic stated on Tuesday that Serbians may expect the goals related to the 2010 inflation and living costs to be achieved. “In 2010, the fluctuations in prices were greater than expected, primarily the prices of oil, everything else was in keeping with projections and I believe that by the end of the year we will be able to state that we have achieved the set goals regarding prices and costs of living,” Milosavljevic told journalists in parliament. When asked what he expects from the future governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), Milosavljevic said that the candidate for the NBS governor, Dejan Soskic, was a very good choice, adding that he believes that Soskic would live up to the task in terms of expertise and independence of the institution he'll likely head. The fourth extraordinary session of the Serbian parliament, whose agenda includes the election of a new NBS governor, was opened on Thursday.
