The IMF board of directors is due to debate the standby arrangement with Serbia today. The arrangement is expected to be approved as the Serbian government has met all the conditions set. IMF to debate standby arrangement on Friday Once the arrangement is approved, an IMF report on Serbia will published, together with a letter of intention signed by Serbian government officials, containing details of the arrangement. The government agreed the fifteen-month standby arrangement, granting Serbia emergency access to USD 520mn if the need should arise, in November. The arrangement, agreed by the Serbian authorities as a precautionary measure, is valid until March 2010. The IMF’s principle requirement was for the government to project a budget for 2009 with a maximum deficit of 1.5 percent GDP.
