Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Alexander Konuzin expects the energy agreement to be signed on 24 or 25 of November in Moscow. Konuzin made the statement to journalists before the beginning of the constitutive session of the Serbian and Russian Business Council at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. "Energy deal by end of November" He said that the co-president of the Serbian and Russian joint committee and Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic would travel to Moscow on November 24 to continue the activities of the committee’s working groups, adding that Dacic would also be meeting with Russian Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu. Earlier today Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic said that Serbia insisted on the construction of the South Stream pipeline, completion of the Banatski Dvor underground reservoir and the sale of NIS. In talks on implementation of the energy deal with Russia, Serbia is strictly adhering to the ratified agreement stipulating that construction of the South Stream pipeline, completion of the Banatski Dvor reservoir and the sales-and-purchase agreement should be treated as a single and integrated package,” the economy minister told daily Politika. He did not wish to comment on claims that, owing to the ongoing global financial crisis, the Russians were proposing a postponement of both the South Stream project and the reservoir construction, and that only the deal for the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) should be signed for the time being. As regards the concessions contract for the construction of the Horgos-Pozega highway, Dinkic said that talks on a mutual contract termination were nearing an end.
