“Auditors can’t revise 2007 budget”
The State Auditing Institution will be unable to carry out the revision of the 2007 budget by the end of the year.

The State Auditing Institution will be unable to carry out the revision of the 2007 budget by the end of the year. This is due to inadequate conditions and lack of staff, the head of that institutions’ council, Radoslav Sretenovic, announced in Belgrade on Friday. “Auditors can’t revise 2007 budget” Speaking on the anniversary of the founding of the State Auditing Institution, Sretenovic said that it still has no adequate working facilities and that it has only a staff of ten, of whom only two are top auditors, while its Internal Organization Regulations call for 117 employees, of whom 80 percent must have university degrees. Sretenovic added that this institution was only recently allocated a room in the parliament building, with the promise that the issue of the work facilities and equipment would be resolved in November. He noted that only after a meeting with President Boris Tadic, these problems were at last addressed. Sretenovic that his team is in charge of auditing in some 9,500 companies and institutions in Serbia.
